Tata and Mama, with their children Nerko and Elko, are facing war. Searching for a safer place, they are forced to leave behind their home, their garden and their dogs. Fortunately, the love they carry, the help and generosity of the inhabitants of the country, and the presence of Lapin-Chagrin for Nerko, appeases their misfortune.

Sylvie Nicolas, author

Sylvie Nicolas is a poet living in Quebec City. She has published some twenty titles, including a dozen for youth in various publishing houses. She also wrote poems and texts in prose in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and France. Some have been published in English and in Korean. In 2012, Éditions du Phoenix (Trampoline) and Sylvie Nicolas were rewarded by the city of Quebec and the Salon du livre de Québec.

Sylvie was also nominated for the Governor General’s Award in 1999. That same year, she won first prize at the literary competition Liberté, Égalité et Citoyenneté au Québec (Liberty, Equality, and Quebec Citizenship) for her poem "Jupons d’histoires" ("Petticoats of Tales"), an eponymous poem in a book published in 2002. She also works as a novel, poetry and book reviews translator.

Marion Arbona, illustrator

After obtaining a diploma in animation film at « Les arts Décoratifs de Paris », Marion Arbona started working as an illustrator for children’s books. When she is not drawing, she is particularly interested in deep sea fishes, cats (even though she is allergic) and weird plants. She also likes reading and watching movies. Her favorite gouache color is light cadmium red. Marion was awarded several illustration prizes in the USA and in Canada where she lived for 10 years. She returned to live in Paris in 2015.
