The story of a young Indian girl who decides to change things.

In a village in rural India, Latika, a courageous and determined young girl, takes advantage of the visit of a government representative to try to make one of her dreams come true: the construction of public toilets, which would allow her to attend school, even after reaching puberty.

This novel in free verse features a strong heroine and, with great sensitivity, exposes the effects of the lack of sanitation facilities on the life of women in some parts of the world.

Highlights

• The impact of the lack of sanitation facilities on the life of women is treated poetically and on a child’s level

• A documentary text on the subject completes the work

• Numerous, colourful illustrations by a young Indian artist
