Roy Miki is a celebrated writer and poet. He is a recipient of the Governor General’s Award, and is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. Dolphin SOS, his first book for young people, was written in collaboration with his wife, Slavia Miki, and was the winner of the BC Book Prize. He lives in Vancouver. Slavia Miki wrote Dolphin SOS with her husband, Roy. She had a career in primary education in Vancouver schools before putting her hand to writing.
Mariko Ando, illustrator
Mariko Ando was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. She is an artist and illustrator, and has exhibited widely in Japan and Canada, garnering much critical acclaim. She is the illustrator of the award-winning book, The Princess Dolls, and has lived in Vancouver for many years.
