Werner Zimmermann is the author and illustrator of Snow Day! and Henny Penny, and illustrator of the hilarious A Porcupine in a Pine Tree and its sequels. He has been nominated for the Governor General’s Award twice and won Mr. Christie’s Book Award for Pippin the Christmas Pig. Werner was inspired to create this book by his granddaughter, who was fascinated by the pond in his backyard. He lives in Guelph, Ontario with his wife, dog, and quite a few goldfish.
