Grampa’s tapping trees; Dad’s boiling sap in the evaporator house; Gramma’s making maple butter; Mom’s wrapping maple cream; and his sisters are breaking up maple candy.

Ben’s hoping for a sweet treat, but everyone tells him he’ll have to wait. Then everything is ready, but Ben is missing.

Reviews

  • Tamara Thiébaux Heikalo’s folksy illustrations immerse the reader in the maple syrup season, both outdoors and indoors. The closeness of the characters and the snowy scenes make for a cozy read. - Tanya Boudreau, Canadian Review of Library Materials Link to review
